Since 2015, I have guided hundreds of young creators and Scouts toward professional-grade studio habits.
Whether in local classrooms or through our national digital borderless platform, I empower students to move beyond the basics—transforming a simple spark of interest into lifelong technical skill.
Let's get artsy! In our Art Explorers course, unleash your creativity with a colorful array of 2-D mediums like pastels, watercolors, and illustration markers. Grab some cardstock or watercolor paper, and let's make some magic! And for our painting class, break out the acrylic supplies and canvas for an adventure in color and texture. Don't worry about supplies—we've got you covered with a complete list and online selections available for each course. Let's paint the town with creativity! 🎨🌟
To ensure Scouts are working with professional-grade materials, supplies are not included, but a curated, required supply list is provided for each specific badge upon enrollment. Whether working with illustration markers, high-quality drawing papers, or heavy-body acrylics and archival mediums, you will have a clear, budget-friendly checklist with direct online links so your Scout is fully prepared for their studio sessions.
The courses are designed with a built-in portfolio system. Scouts will upload their completed requirements directly into the course platform for review. Once all modules are complete, we will schedule a live, virtual wrap-up call to review their work and finalize the badge. Please note: A guardian must be present on this video call to comply with all Youth Protection Training (YPT) standards. Following a successful review, I will provide the official signature for their Merit Badge record.
The curriculum is entirely self-paced, allowing Scouts to build their studio habits around their busy schedules. They have 24/7 access to the video modules, worksheets, and requirement guides. The only scheduled live interaction is the final wrap-up meeting for official badge verification.
It is a simple process! Before beginning the coursework, parents or Troop Leaders should search for Sandra Mucha within the Scoutbook system under Registered Merit Badge Counselors and add me to the Scout's specific badge record (Art, Textiles, or Sculpture). This ensures the advancement tracking is officially linked from day one.
